Transneft donates 10 residential buildings to people on the waiting list in Novgorod Region

On 6 December 2017, Transneft donated the Naum residential development to Shimsky municipal district to the administration of the Novgorod region. Novgorod region governor Andrey Nikitin and Vice President of Transneft Mikhail Margelov took part in the ceremony held in Novgorod Veliki.

The handover of residential buildings with fit-out units, worth over RUB 235 million in total, was formalized in a contract signed by Director General of Transneft Baltic Yuri Bogatenkov and Head of Shimsky municipal district Nikolay Tikhanovich.

The Naum residential development comprised of 10 modern double-story houses was raised on the funds of Transneft for workers of the Novgorod branch of the oil pipeline company and was commissioned in December 2013. Due to the contract signed, the administration of Shimsky municipal district will be able to provide 20 ready-to-use residential units to residents in need of better housing conditions. All units are outfitted with home appliances and furniture.

The utilities of the 79,243-sqm residential development include power, gas and water supply lines along with telecommunications and sewage. The territory that comprises drives, walkways and a driveway has ample lighting. Donating the residential development was in line with the cooperation agreement between Transneft and Novgorod region government, signed on 27 April 2017, as part of joint social projects’ implementation.

In the Novgorod region Transneft is represented by Transneft Baltic which in 2016 assumed responsibility for oil trunk pipelines of the Baltic pipeline system BPS-2. The total length of oil and petroleum products trunk pipelines over the territory of the region reaches 1,832 km. 

The headcount of Transneft Baltic in the Novgorod region is 1,247 workers of whom 877 are employed by Novgorod Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate.

Located in the territory of Shimsky municipal district is OPS-7 (oil pump station) as well as the utility vehicle and special-purpose machinery department where 386 people are employed.

The population of Shimsky municipal district of the Novgorod region is 11,558 residents.
