Transneft took an active part in the international energy efficiency and energy development forum Russian Energy Week, held in Moscow and St. Petersburg on 3-7 October this year.
On 6 October Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin and energy minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak visited Transneft’s booth. Vice President of Transneft Pavel Revel-Muroz reported on the outcome of the measures aimed at raising the energy efficiency and energy savings. He also presented innovative hi-tech oil transportation equipment as well as the tools for inspection of trunk pipelines and enlarged upon the Company's prospective development areas.
According to Pavel Revel-Muroz, Transneft implemented the energy management system at all of its industrial facilities, this system being very effective. Thanks to a wide range of technical and organizational measures, the Company saved RUB 970 mln during the past year and more than RUB 5 billion in five recent years. He emphasized that for the sake of further energy efficiency enhancement Transneft developed technical solutions for creating an energy efficient oil pump station and is doing robust research in the area of using renewable energy sources.
Transneft’s display included state-of-the-art domestic equipment manufactured by entities of the Transneft system, such as the flagship of the PIG line-up: the combined magnetic in-line inspection tool developed by Transneft Diascan, as well as pumping equipment manufactured at the Transneft Oil Pumps plant in Chelyabinsk and a mockup reactor for the synthesis of drag reducing agents to be manufactured at the Elabuga plant.
The energy efficiency effort of Transneft was highly appreciated by the professional community and the Energy Ministry of the Russian Federation. At the Fourth All-Russian Contest of Completed Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Enhancement Projects ENES-2017, whose results were reviewed at the forum, the Company was awarded the main prize in the nomination “Best integrated programme implemented in the fuel and energy sector to promote energy saving and energy efficiency” as well as a diploma for “Effective management system promoting energy saving and energy efficiency at a fuel and energy enterprise”.
Transneft Media with its Oil Pipeline Transport magazine became a winner in the nomination "Best Corporate Media" of the Third Nationwide Contest of Mass Media, FES Press Services, and Regional Administrations that was also held on the forum's sidelines. The joint Internet project of Transneft and Russian News Agency TASS Longread Zapolyarye – Purpe took the second place in the nomination "The Modern Production and Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex”, whereas the international magazine Pipeline Science and Technology jointly published by Transneft’s PTI and UK-based Technical Productions Ltd. took the third place in the nomination “Federal Mass Media – FEC of Russia Abroad”.
Today, Vice President of Transneft Pavel Revel-Muroz delivered the main report on the imported products localization programme, as part of the panel discussion “Technological Cooperation and Import Substitution in the Energy Sector: Effective Response to Sanction Risks” that was held within the forum’s business program. Among the other participants of this discussion are: First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexey Teksler, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Osmakov and RUIE president Alexander Shokhin. On 5 of October Transneft Vice President Sergey Andronov took part in the round-table discussion “Developing the Exchange Trade in Russian Oil” together with the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Kirill Molodtsov.
The international energy efficiency and energy development forum Russian Energy Week (REW) is a world-class integrated energy communication business venue. Discussed on the Forum’s sidelines are development prospects of such basic industries as oil, gas, coal and petrochemical sectors. The aim of this event is demonstrating the potential of the Russian fuel and energy complex as well as the potential of international cooperation in this field.
Participating in the forum are more than 8,000 representatives of federal and regional public authorities, national and foreign sectoral companies, scientific and expert community, youth as well as around 1,000 journalists. Delegates from over 70 countries of Europe, Asia, North and Latin America as well as Australia have been invited.
